ARTHRITIS SOCIETY OF B.C. – Walk for Arthritis Committee Members – The Walk for Arthritis is on Saturday, June 1st, 2019. Walk Committee members are needed monthly to plan and organize the event. The frequency of meetings is planned to increase in the final months leading up to the Walk.

THE MUSTARD SEED NEW LIFE COMMUNITY – Coldest Day of the Year – The Coldest Day of the Year event is taking place on February 23rd, 2019. Duties include photographers, registration team members, welcome team greeters, and parking attendants.

MS SOCIETY OF CANADA – MS Walk 2019 – On May 26th the MS Society is holding their annual walk which is their largest fundraiser of the year. Duties include participant check in, volunteer check in, food tent, kids tent, set up, clean up and more.

 

Current Volunteer Positions:

VOLUNTEER KAMLOOPS – Snow Angel Volunteers needed – We are seeking volunteers for the Snow Angels program in various areas of Kamloops. Must be physically fit and reliable. Please complete our volunteer application online and specify you are interested in Snow Angels or contact our Snow Angels Coordinator at 250-372-8313.

OUT OF THE COLD – Shift Support Volunteers – Volunteers will assist Shift Captains with guests seeking food and shelter on Wednesdays and Sundays. The shifts on Wednesdays and Sundays are: 6:00pm-9:00pm, 9:00pm-12:00am, 12:00am-7:00am.

MS SOCIETY OF KAMLOOPS – Friendly Visiting Volunteer – Volunteers visit with residents to reduce social isolation, provide support and companionship, and improve the quality of life of isolated persons with MS living in long time care.

ASK WELLNESS SOCIETY – AASH Program Volunteer – Assist with Breakfast prep 7:30-9:15 Mon-Fri, Brunch Prep Sunday 11:-1:00, Meal Plan Wed/Thu/Fri and Sun lunch. Shopping for meals, Clean Kitchen. Access to reliable vehicle and valid BC Driver’s Licence and insurance. Criminal Record check and Reference screening

BROCKLEHURST GEMSTONE CARE CENTRE – Musical Talents – Singers and musicians are needed to entertain seniors.

PHOENIX CENTRE – Story Harvester – Volunteers will assist harvesting stories via electronic survey to people who choose to participate.

ADAPTIVE SPORTS AT SUN PEAKS – Volunteer Ski and Snowboard Instructors – Volunteers are needed to commit to one weekend day throughout Jan., Feb., and Mar. each snow season at Sun Peaks. There are a limited number or season passes that are available to instructors who commit to give 100 hours per season.
