CIBC Run For the Cure Event Day Volunteers The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 1, 2023. POSITION OVERVIEW CIBC Run For the Cure Event Day Volunteers are an important part of the success of this event. Whether you will be helping with site set up/tear down, greeting and directing participants, photography or tallying donations, there is a volunteer position for you! As an Event Day Volunteer, you will be responsible for-Attend a location during your agreed shift, and Variety of duties/tasks that could include: Greet and engage participants during registration and activities,General accounting, Set up/tear down of tents, tables/chairs, banners, and Route Marshall – directing participants for the 1km and 5km routes. Some roles require you to be at least 19 years of age and may require heavy lifting due to the scope of the role and responsibilities. Commitment- Availability on event day – Sunday, October 1 (once registered, someone from the event committee will be in contact to confirm shift and role) and Shift commitment between 2-6 hours Benefit - Help the cancer cause and be a part of meaningful action!
