Volunteer Circle Facilitator | Positions Available: 15

Our Parenting Support Circles are for Parents, Grandparents, and other Kinship Caregivers in different communities throughout BC. We offer support to parents, grandparents and caregivers in 9 languages (English, Arabic, Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Pilipino, Portuguese, Punjabi, and Spanish) across BC. The circle is run by two co-facilitators who are trained and supported by PSS staff and by other volunteers. Our circles are base on self-help, peer support model which provides a safe space for Circle members to get together and discuss their strengths, challenges or concerns about parenting role of the child development and parenting. The Circle Facilitator will facilitate group discussions, contact new referrals and do the intake. Assist with the financial aspect of the circle. Submit assistance and financial reports at the end of the month. Attend monthly Steering Committee and Facilitator support meetings. Participate in ongoing PSS training and workshops. Supply the circle with information on community resources. Training online: Self-paced 10 to 15 hrs. (1 months to finish) and 3 Live Zoom sessions Thursday, January 19 & 26 from 7 to 9 pm; and Saturday, January 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Free for those who are able to commit one year of volunteering in the position.

Parenting Book Club Facilitator | Positions Available: 10

Facilitate the Book Club discussion, and supply to the participants with information about the book that will be discuss. Accept new referrals and/or contact them to encourage attendance. Ensure the Book Club has a comfortable and safe meeting. Brief, De-brief and connect with your co-facilitator on a weekly basis. Keep track of the Book club attendance and submit the report at the end of the month. Consult with the Volunteer Recruitment & Retention Coordinator, Provincial Education & Support Program Coordinator, or Staff when necessary. Attend monthly Steering committee and Facilitator Support Meetings, where they exist. Participate in ongoing PSS trainings and workshops, when possible; and Provide the community with information about PSS. Training online: Self-paced 10 to 15 hrs. (1 months to finish) and 3 Live Zoom sessions Thursday, January 19 & 26 from 7 to 9 pm; and Saturday, January 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Free for those who are able to commit one year of volunteering in the position

Circle Facilitator GRG & Kindship caregivers | Positions Available: 10

The Circle Facilitator will provide support to grandparents and caregivers through our GRG Support Circle. The circle is run by two co-facilitators who are trained and supported by PSS staff and by other volunteers. Our circles are base on self-help, peer support model which provides a safe space for Circle members to get together and discuss their strengths, challenges or concerns about parenting role of the child development and parenting. The Circle meet once a week, 2 hours online via zoom in the morning from 10 am to 12 pm. The duties of the Circle Facilitator will facilitate group discussions, contact new referrals and do the intake. Assist with the financial aspect of the circle. Submit assistance and financial reports at the end of the month. Attend monthly Steering Committee and Facilitator support meetings. Participate in ongoing PSS training and workshops. Supply the circle with information on community resources. Training online: Self-paced 10 to 15 hrs. (1 months to finish) and 3 Live Zoom sessions Thursday, January 19 & 26 from 7 to 9 pm; and Saturday, January 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
