Special Events / Fundraising:

JDRF – Event Volunteers – Volunteers are needed for various events throughout the year. Volunteers will participate in fundraising events, attend community engagement events, and educational events.

MS SOCIETY OF CANADA – MS Walk Volunteers – Volunteer opportunities include parking attendants, rest stop helpers, photographers, cheering squad, check-in, site set-up/tear-down crew. Event is scheduled for May 24th.

Current Volunteer Positions:

VOLUNTEER KAMLOOPS – Historian – A volunteer is needed to research Volunteer Kamloops’ past, compile information, and load documents onto our website.

VOLUNTEER KAMLOOPS – Admin. Assistants – An Admin Assistant volunteer is needed to help in our office. Duties includes phone calls, filing, minor cleaning, using a database, and more.

CANADIAN RED CROSS – Emergency Response Team – Volunteers will conduct emergency preparedness activities; assess the needs of those affected by an emergency event; provide services such as shelter, food, clothing, registration or evacuees; provide emotional care and comfort within an emergency shelter, community reception centre, community recovery centre, or through outreach activities.

CANADIAN RED CROSS – Health Equipment Loan Program – Client Services Volunteer – HELP offers mobility, independence and safety to people recovering from illness, surgery, or wishing to spend their final days in their own home. Volunteers will help select appropriate medical equipment to match health professional referrals, provide instructions, and more.

KAMLOOPS ARTS COUNCIL – Board Members – Board members are needed to serve two-year terms from August to July with the Kamloops Arts Council. There are up to 12 directors elected by members or appointed at the annual AGM. Current board needs include people with fundraising and financial skills, human resources, volunteer and member engagement, communications and marketing, etc. Board members meet the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8 p.m.

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY – Run Director – Volunteers are the community drivers in every Run site in Canada. Together with a committee of like-minded individuals, you will raise funds for breast cancer research and support programs through the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. Planning and organizing the Run takes time, passion and creative thinking. In partnership with volunteers and staff, you will be part of something truly extraordinary in your community.

MS SOCIETY OF CANADA – Volunteer Committee Chair – The volunteer will lead the MS Walk Committee, provide support and leadership to the committee members, and delegate duties and ensure assigned projects are successfully completed. Other responsibilities required.

ASK WELLNESS SOCIETY – Shuttle Driver – Volunteers will drive the company minivan. Two shifts available daily. Route is to Lansdowne Mall and North Hills Mall from Mission Flats. Volunteers will transport clients between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

KAMLOOPS ELIZABETH FRY SOCIETY – Volunteer Legal Services Receptionist – Volunteers will provide a variety of reception and clerical duties for the Legal Services Office.
