BC ASSOCIATION OF ABORIGINAL FRIENDSHIP CENTRES – Event Support – Various positions include coat check, security, elder assistant, career fair assistant, info booth attendant, and more.

KAMLOOPS ARTS COUNCIL – Painters – A painting party is happening Feb. 24- 25 and painters are needed to help paint the galleries and plinths for the annual Art Exposed Regional Art Show.

BOOGIE THE BRIDGE – Various Volunteer Opportunities – Volunteer opportunities include Communications Team Lead, Food Team Lead, Volunteer Team Lead, and Entertainment Team Lead. Responsibilities vary for each position. Boogie the Bridge event is April 26, 2020.

Current Volunteer Positions:

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY – Run Director – Volunteers are the community drivers in every Run site in Canada. Together with a committee of like-minded individuals, you will raise funds for breast cancer research and support programs through the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. Planning and organizing the Run takes time, passion and creative thinking. In partnership with volunteers and staff, you will be part of something truly extraordinary in your community.

SIMPLY THE BEST THRIFT STORE – Display Artist – Volunteers with a keen eye for detail and the ability to be creative with materials for displays at the thrift store. Also, maintenance of retail displays is a part of the position along with occasional work as a cashier and providing customer service.

ASK WELLNESS SOCIETY – Shuttle Driver – Volunteers will drive the company minivan. Two shifts available daily. Route is to Lansdowne Mall and North Hills Mall from Mission Flats. Volunteers will transport clients between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

ASK WELLNESS SOCIETY – Bicycle Mechanic Instructor – Volunteers will meet at the Maverick with clients from various community supports and guide them in building and maintaining bicycles.

MS SOCIETY OF CANADA – Volunteer Committee Chair – The volunteer will lead the MS Walk Committee, provide support and leadership to the committee members, and delegate duties and ensure assigned projects are successfully completed. Other responsibilities required.

KAMLOOPS ELIZABETH FRY SOCIETY – Volunteer Legal Services Receptionist – Volunteers will provide a variety of reception and clerical duties for the Legal Services Office.

OVERLANDER – Trinity Care- Volunteers will Assist in short stay 4-bed area community hospice. Responsibilities include 1-1 Visiting, Reading to Patients, Preparing Coffee/Light Refreshments. Volunteers must be Reliable and Responsible, able to work as a team, and willing and able to take Hospice Training (30+ Hours) which will be offered at no charge. Must be 19+ to volunteer.

REPAIR CAFÉ – Fixer and General Help Volunteers- Fixer volunteers will teach clients how to repair items they bring in. Helpers will show people where to go and how to register items.
