Special Events / Fundraising:

PROVINCIAL WINTER FAIR – Event Volunteers – The Provincial Winter Fair is an annual event that celebrates agriculture with a focus on 4-H, youth, and local food production. They need various volunteers for their event.

BC AG EXPO – Office Volunteer – Volunteers are needed to help at the BC Ag Expo office. Volunteers must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and good people skills. The annual expo is Sept. 27-30.

BREWLOOPS CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY – BrewLoops Festival 2019 Volunteers – Volunteer opportunities include the following: Setup Team, Door Staff/Greeters, Ticket Selling & Merchandise, Brewery Support, Runner/Table Clearing, and Cleanup Team. Some duties require heavy lifting while the Brewery Support volunteer must have their Serving It Right Certificate. Volunteers are needed from Sept 26th to the 29th.

 

Current Volunteer Positions:

CANADIAN RED CROSS – Various – The Red Cross is looking for a variety of volunteers including the following: a Deliver Driver to help deliver equipment to the homes of clients and to other Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) locations; a Program Administration Volunteer for the HELP to provide excellent customer service, compile statistical data, and maintain paper and/or computer records, and more; Client Services volunteer for HELP to provide accurate information to clients, does equipment inventory, requests donations, and more; and an Equipment Technician for HELP who does maintenance on the health equipment to unsure they are in good working order and are sanitized. Some volunteer opportunities require WHIMS and First Aid or the willingness to get training.

VOLUNTEER KAMLOOPS – Admin. Assistants – An Admin Assistant volunteer is needed to help in our office. Duties includes phone calls, filing, minor cleaning, using a database, and more.

KAMLOOPS YMCA/YWCA – Basketball Coach – Coaches are responsible for fostering an inclusive and positive non-competitive environment. Coaches are responsible for observing games and addressing any concerns during play. Volunteers are also responsible for practices as well.

KAMLOOPS YMCA/YWCA – Referee – Referees are needed September-December to enforce the rules of the game. Referees begin the game by tossing the ball and calling violations. Also, volunteers should be a positive role model and have the ability to remain neutral and fair when dealing with conflict.

OVERLANDER – Trinity Care- Volunteers will Assist in short stay 4-bed area community hospice. Responsibilities include 1-1 Visiting, Reading to Patients, Preparing Coffee/Light Refreshments. Volunteers must be Reliable and Responsible, able to work as a team, and willing and able to take Hospice Training offered at no charge.
