FOCUS Program

The FOCUS Program is delivered in partnership with Interior Health Authority for adults 19+ years of age.  Program objectives include assistance to people experiencing a mental health illness.  These range from depression, anxieties, etc.

The FOCUS Program Coordinator can provide:

Recruitment:

Support and advocacy for consumers of mental-health services with occupational therapist referrals or self-referrals who seek to experience personal growth and development.

Referral:

Provides a volunteer placement for a consumer of the mental health system where he/she can develop skills in the area of teambuilding, clerical, computer, communication, and interpersonal relationships.  The consumer’s action plan is to include career planning, when applicable, which involves seeking volunteer opportunities that will lead into future employment in the community.

Follow-up Service:

To link or integrate mental health consumers with community organizations in a way that promotes their involvement and enhances community awareness about various mental health issues.
